Library

In library we had to choose two choice board activity’s. I choose to do a quiz and write a see, think and wonder blog post about a aboriginal photo. This is the image I choose:

See: I see a aboriginal person trying to hunt two emus, broken down trees, a waterhole at the back of the picture , another aboriginal person is  behind a bush, he is also watching the horizon,I also see that it is a very cloudy day outside, It also looks windy since the trees look like the are falling.

think: I think that the emus are scared because they are hiding behind a tree, It  also seems like the person hiding behind the tree is trying to block the emus from the other side, I also think that they are trying to eat the emus for food, maybe even for clothes, or even try to use this skin from the emu for shelter

wonder: I wonder how the emu would escape, how the emus would escape, what the other person is doing, if they would eat the emu, why they would want to kill the emu, would they be desperate, what would it taste like, why not the possums or fish, why emus, are the emus scared.

Why Do We Use Avatars And Why Avatars Are important?

What’s an avatar you say? Well an avatar is a photo that doesn’t identify you as a person and doesn’t leave any information about your personal information and codes.

Why are avatars important? Avatars are  important for you to understand because if you don’t use one then people could see what you look like and find out your private information. This is not good for later on in your life because you might get scammed or someone else can find out about your life.

This is my avatar

Why do you think it is important to have a avatar?

Me As A Reader

My favourite genre of books is family and friendship. This is because they are very exciting to read and hook you in. I also think that family and friendship have a very eye catching cover.

A book that I would highly recommend is the book “Wonder”. It is from the family and friendship section. You will like this book if you would treat a person that looks different and needs surgery on his face like the people you see everyday.

The book that I am reading for book chat is called “Crenshaw”. Crenshaw is a imaginary cat that tries to help fix Jackson’s family problems. He also comes in Jackson’s life when he has problems.

My book chat book

So far I think that if I had the chance to I should’ve chosen a different book because I think this book doesn’t hook you in as the other books have.

What is your favourite book genre?

My First Month in Year 5

So far in year 5 we have been doing lots of  APS sport like swimming and bike riding . By doing these sports we are pushing ourselves to the best ability we can go.

Our focus of the school is reflection.Reflection means to look back on your work and try to improve our work.

Mrs Straford has been testing us on our maths and reading skills so she can get to know us better and how we learn. We  also have been working on our science project of the brain and how juggling improves your thinking .

What is your favourite character trait?

All About year 4

Dear Future Year 4’s,

I hear you’re coming up to 4LX next year.

Here’s three things you should know:

•   there will be more homework like maths games

•  you will be at upper school assembly which there will be no preps, year 1’s,2’s or 3’s

•you will have to have more responsibilities like remembering special dates in your diary.

A couple of things to look forward to are:

•  camp because you get to go in your own cabins.

•  fun games outside with other classes.

A time I laughed was when we surprised students when it was their birthday.

A time I was challenged was when we did touch typing.

I am proud of how much I’ve achieved in maths and decimals.

I always remember Mrs Lennox saying that you have to work hard to achieve your goals.

Area and Perimeter

In Measurement and Geometry we are looking at calculating the perimeter and area of regular shapes.

Perimeter is the border of an object. Area is the inside of the object .

In the real world using knowledge of this would help you to buy a house because you need to know what the land size that house is.

When have you seen people use area or perimeter?

The Nativity Play

“I shall go find my cousin Elizabeth for some advice,” Mary said to herself.

In 4T we have been focussing  on the nativity play. We first had to audition for the parts we wanted to play. Then we had to memorise our lines. And finally we made the props and organised our costumes.

A challenge throughout this process was memorising my lines. I worked to overcome it by practicing every night, putting it in pages and saying it over and over until I could finally memorise it.

Overall I enjoyed working with my classmates to make a awesome play and making a replica of when Jesus was born.

What character would you choose if you were to perform this play and why?

Droughts

This term we have been focusing on natural disasters.

I researched and wrote my own information report on droughts.

We ended the unit by creating diorama to show our understandings and shared them with our year 2 buddies. Here is my diorama:

Whilst creating my diorama I was surprised that people, plants and animals experience this extreme weather.

What natural disaster do you think you would be interested and why?

GRA STEAM

I think that Mia could ask people to pay for there own towels. She could also maybe pay someone to do the laundry. Therefore Mia’s parents only would have to clean the rooms.

This is photo of my plan:

What do you think of my idea and what would you change?
